Ever wonder how a massive gala gets its amazing sound and visuals? In this video, we take you behind the scenes at the Royal Met Gala to show you how we bring an event of this size to life. From crystal-clear sound systems to captivating video content, we provide everything you need to make your next event unforgettable!

Live Events come in all sizes.  It can be something as simple as a five-person dinner meeting in a restaurant's private dining room, all the way up to a 1,000+ person annual gala.  One or more of our show technicians are present during these events to set up and ensure the audio-visual goes smoothly.

This past December, we were selected to provide the audio-visuals for the Royal Met Gala, held at the OnCenter Convention Center in downtown Syracuse.

Let's take a closer look at the variety of services we provided for the Royal Met Gala, and how they can elevate any event, big or small.

Audio/PA System

At the Royal Met Gala, our Line Array PA system delivered pristine audio that resonated throughout the entire convention center. Line Arrays focus sound directly on the audience, minimizing unwanted reflections off hard surface walls and ceilings. This minimizes echo and muddiness, ensuring everyone hears every detail of the event perfectly. This technology is particularly well-suited for large spaces like convention centers, where pristine sound quality is essential.

To ensure the musicians had the equipment they needed, we provided comprehensive Backline support. This included all non-instrumental sound equipment, such as amplifiers, microphones, stands, cables, and speakers. A dedicated technician was assigned solely to manage the Backline, ensuring a smooth and efficient performance.

Video Display

Using special software, we produced the panoramic video content displayed across six large screens you can see in the video.

To make sure the video projectors were out of sight, we used rear projection lenses for all of the projectors allowing us to locate all projectors and stands backstage behind the screens.

Recognition of sponsors and supporters is super-important for any fundraising event. Another unique feature of this event was a custom four-TV video kiosk designed to showcase sponsors and contributors at the main entrance.

We even provided the ball for the midnight ball drop to welcome in the new year!

Although Live Events almost always include a PA system and some form of video display, they often include other premium support items such as:

  • Lighting
  • Livestreaming
  • Video Recording
  • Image Magnification aka “IMAG” where we put live close-up real-time video of the presenter/performer up on the video display screens for the audience to get a better view
